Local Monitoring Committee

The Local Monitoring Committee at Alverton School is committed to:

  • improving the opportunities and outcomes for children at Alverton School;

  • using its individual and collective expertise to help the school to achieve high standards by understanding, supporting and monitoring progress towards the school’s improvement targets;

  • working effectively and efficiently in partnership with the school and the multi-academy trust;

  • providing a localised and bespoke level of challenge, expertise and support for Alverton School.

Committee members will focus on current school development areas as well as standing items of governance (Safeguarding, Pupil Premium etc). They will, for example, meet with staff and pupils, meet school leaders and visit classes which provides an ideal opportunity for staff and committee members to work together. The Local Monitoring Committee's meetings each term enable feedback on the work of the committee members.

You can find a list of the members of our Local Monitoring Committee in the Meet the Team section of this website under the Our School heading as well as in the Parent Guide below.

Local Monitoring Committee Diversity

The Local Monitoring Committee (LMC) members of Alverton Primary School believe it is important that the committee reflect the diversity of the school communities they serve. Diverse committees promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for staff and young people.

The committee members have collected data on the diversity of the committee, including data on age, gender and ethnicity. They will use that data to inform their recruitment and training needs and ensure there is always a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision making.

We will not publish this diversity data online as individual committee members could be identified and we have a legal obligation to protect their personal data.

Please see the TPAT section of this website for financial information, information about governance and links to key documents.
